How to Find Diamond Awl Leather Workshop

From Manchester–M60
If you’re travelling from Manchester, follow the M60 towards Ashton-under-Lyne, then take the route towards Ashton-under-Lyne and Mossley.
Continue onto Manchester Road (A635) and follow the road towards Mossley.
Woodend Mill is on Manchester Road. Look for the Warmco entrance and the Diamond Awl signage.
Approximate journey time: 30–40 minutes from Manchester city centre.
From Leeds Huddersfield - M62
Travelling from Leeds, Huddersfield or across West Yorkshire?
Follow the M62 towards Greater Manchester, then take the route towards Oldham, Ashton-under-Lyne and Mossley.
Continue towards Manchester Road (A635) and follow the road into Mossley.
Look out for the Warmco entrance to Woodend Mill.
Approximate journey time: 45–60 minutes from Leeds.
From Liverpool & Warrington – M62 West
From Liverpool, Warrington and the west, follow the M62 towards Manchester, then connect with the M60 towards the eastern side of Greater Manchester.
Continue towards Ashton-under-Lyne, then follow the A635 towards Mossley.
Woodend Mill is located on Manchester Road. Look for the Warmco entrance as you approach the mill.
Approximate journey time: 1–1½ hours from Liverpool.
Lancaster & Preston - M6 North
Travelling from Lancashire or further north?
Follow the M6 towards Manchester, connecting with the motorway network around Greater Manchester before continuing towards Ashton-under-Lyne and Mossley.
Follow the A635 / Manchester Road towards Mossley and look for the entrance to Woodend Mill / Warmco Industrial Park.
Approximate journey time: around 1–1½ hours from Preston.
Sheffield & Derby - M1 South
If you’re travelling from Sheffield, Derbyshire or further south, follow the M1 towards the M62, then continue towards Greater Manchester.
Follow the route towards Oldham, Ashton-under-Lyne and Mossley, joining Manchester Road (A635) for the final approach.
Look for Woodend Mill / Warmco Industrial Park on Manchester Road.
Approximate journey time: around 1–1½ hours from Sheffield.
Finding Woodend MIll
The last few minutes of your journey
Finding Woodend Mill is straightforward, but finding your way around the mill itself can be a little less obvious on your first visit.
When you arrive at Manchester Road:
Look for the Warmco entrance and the Diamond Awl signage.
Once you have entered Woodend Mill:
1. Follow the entrance road down. 2. Bear left as indicated on the map. 3. Continue towards the mill complex. 4. Follow the route through the tunnel. 5. Bear right towards Mill 1. 6. Make your way to the entrance of Mill 1.
Diamond Awl Leather Workshop
Mill 1 – Level 4
Please be outside the Mill 1 entrance for 9:30am on your course day. Jason will come down to meet you.
There is free parking on site, so you can park in the car park or, where appropriate, near Mill 1.
Coming by Train?
You can also reach Diamond Awl without a car.
Mossley Railway Station
Mossley Station is approximately a 10-minute walk from the studio.
If you’re travelling from Manchester Piccadilly, you will generally need to change at Stalybridge.
Stalybridge Railway Station
Stalybridge is another convenient option, with frequent direct trains from Manchester Piccadilly. The journey is approximately 15 minutes, and collection from Stalybridge can be arranged for course visitors.
