Offsite Leather Workshops

Bring Leatherworking to Your Event

Looking for something a little different for your next event? At Diamond Awl Leather Workshop, we provide inspiring and unique offsite leatherworking workshops and structured training programmes for a wide range of organisations, events and groups.

We have worked with brands including Timberland and DS Automobiles, BA (Hons) Fashion Design students at Liverpool John Moores University, and events including RHS Chatsworth, The Ruskin at Lancaster Castle, Vintage By The Sea and The Festival of Making. Our work has also taken us to organisations including The Social Development Bank in Riyadh and Société Générale in London.

Workshops can be tailored to suit your event, from one-off leatherworking taster sessions and corporate team-building activities to client entertaining, press events and more structured leatherworking training programmes.

Whether you have a clear idea of what you would like, or you’re looking for something completely different, we are always open to new ideas and happy to discuss how leatherworking could work for your event.

Press Event

Diamond Awl Leather Workshop delivered a 3 hour taster workshop as part of a press event for Timberland. The event was the launch of Timberland C.F. Stead Indigo Suede Icons collection and celebrated craftsmanship and traditional techniques. C.F. Stead is a tannery in Leeds and the press tried their hand at traditional leatherwork and hand-stitched an indigo leather card holder which was embossed with their initials. The event took place at North Brewing.
DS Automobile

Rock Oyster Festival

Diamond Awl created a series of workshops for DS Automobiles at Rock Oyster Festival in 2023. The workshops complimented the high level of craftsmanship used within the DS cars and created a brand experience over three days. Over 100 participants joined the workshops and left with a DS branded hand made leather item.

The training programmes involved teaching 25 students in traditional leather-working techniques, incorporating cultural elements and guiding them in the creation of four finished leather products. The project required the development of product concepts, cultural research, a comprehensive training manual, and a detailed plan outlining tool and material requirements, along with a structured training schedule to ensure all objectives were met. The training programme demanded a high level of organisation, cultural sensitivity, and professional delivery.
