At Diamond Awl Leather Workshop we can provide an inspiring and unique range of offsite leather workshops and structured training programmes.

We have worked with BA (Hons) Fashion Design students at Liverpool John Moores University, events including RHS Chatsworth, The Ruskin at Lancaster Castle, Vintage By The Sea and The Festival of Making and organisations including The Social Development Bank in Riyadh and Societe Generale.

We can provide one off taster sessions or a more structured series of leather workshop training.  We are always open to new ideas.

Rock Oyster Festival – DS Automobiles

Diamond Awl created a series of workshops for DS Automobiles at Rock Oyster Festival in 2023. The workshops complimented the high level of craftsmanship used within the DS cars and created a brand experience over three days. Over 100 participants joined the workshops and left with a DS branded hand made leather item.

Festival of Making

Since the very first year, Diamond Awl have provided one hour taster workshops at The Festival of Making in Blackburn. The sessions facilitate up to 10 people from age 8 upwards and give an inspiring introduction to leatherwork, with everyone taking away their hand stitched item.

Social Development Bank

Diamond Awl Leather Workshop delivered a five day bag making training programme in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for 24 students. It was part of a funded programme by the Social Development Bank to skill people to set up their own businesses.

Société Générale

Diamond Awl Leather Workshop delivered a two hour taster workshop for Societe Generale as part of a corporate entertaining day. The workshop took place in the private dining room at The Waterside Inn, Bray on Thames for 10 participants.

RHS Chatsworth

Diamond Awl Leather Workshop were invited 2 years running to take part in the Future Artisan Craft area of RHS Chatsworth.  As well as doing ‘show and tell’ to showcase traditional leatherwork we also hosted local primary school children who tried their skills with leather embossing.

Diamond Awl Leather Workshop currently run a series of three hour workshops for Art & Design students at Liverpool John Moores University. These sessions provide a range of skills to compliment the students’ studies and inspire them in the craft of hands on making.

The Ruskin Lancaster Castle

Diamond Awl Leather Workshop were invited by The Ruskin to provide a three hour workshop at Lancaster Castle. The session facilitated 15 students who learnt introductory leatherwork skills and took away their very own hand stitched leather coin purse.
